Investigative Lead: Pentagon Inspector General Resigns

According to an email to staff yesterday, Pentagon Inspector General Joseph Schmitz informed Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld that he will be resigning from his position. His last day will be September 9, 2005.

An unconfirmed lead is that Mr. Schmitz will become CEO of a holding company of Blackwater.
