Paula Broadwell, General David Petraeus' mistress, may have used her ties to Petraeus to promote a new lightweight machine gun for a defense contractor.
Danielle Brian, executive director of the Project On Government Oversight, said political influence should have no place in federal contracting.
"It's an uneven playing field. That is not how a contract should be decided," Brian said.
