POGO is now accepting nominations for the
2008 Beyond the Headlines Award.

Deadline: September 15, 2008
In 1997, we created the Beyond the Headlines Award* to honor citizen activists, journalists, civil servants, and military personnel who have gone beyond gaining headline attention to positively influencing public policy. This award differs from the Good Government Award, which was designed to honor a lifetime of work and will typically be given to someone who is retiring from public service, and the Bi-Partisan Leadership Award, which was created to recognize Members of Congress and other leaders who work together across the aisle to promote a more open, honest, and accountable government.
In the spirit of our mission, this award recognizes individuals who work toward permanent remedies for systemic waste, fraud, and abuse in the federal government.
Please submit your nominations, including a brief description of your nominee’s work and why he or she deserves the award, no later than September 15, 2008, to pogo@pogo.org or by calling Danni Downing at (202) 347-1122.
* This award is not monetary.
