POGO Applauds White House Ethics Waiver Decision

The White House announced today that it has consolidated and released ten ethics waivers granted by federal agencies under the Obama Administration. 
 
POGO applauds the White House’s decision to make the waivers available and continue steps towards transparency.  To the White House’ credit, in only 16 of the 1890 appointments has the Executive Branch granted a waiver.
 
“This is a big step in the right direction towards open government.  This gives a taste of transparency and we are thirsty for more,” said Danielle Brian, Executive Director, Project On Government Oversight.

Founded in 1981, the Project On Government Oversight (POGO) is an independent nonprofit that investigates and exposes corruption and other misconduct in order to achieve a more effective, accountable, open, and ethical federal government.
