POGO's Foreign Influence Database is based on propaganda filed by lobbying and public relations firms working on behalf of foreign governments in the U.S. The Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) requires advocates representing foreign governments to register with the Department of Justice and to file within 48 hours any informational materials disseminated to two or more individuals. This database is comprised of informational materials filed between 2009 and 2011.
