Danni Downing is Editor and Congressional Training Program Director for the Project On Government Oversight. Danni first came to work for POGO as an intern in 1998; returned to POGO as a Research Assistant after graduation in 1999; was made Editor in 2002; and became the Training Program Director in 2010. She has led investigations into such issues as the independence of the Environmental Protection Agency National Ombudsman, the lack of public access to Congressional Research Service products, and inadequate whistleblower protections. Danni earned a bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College in 1999. Before attending Dartmouth, she served in the U.S. Army on active duty from 1988 to 1991 and in the Reserves from 1991 to 1997.
