Emma Stodder

Associate Editor

Emma Stodder is the Associate Editor at POGO. She edits investigations, analyses, and congressional testimony, and helped lead the development of the organization’s current style guide. Emma is also a writer, researcher, and fact checker. She recently coauthored an investigation into Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainee deaths that was covered by NPR. Emma also manages POGO’s whistleblower intake program.

Emma joined POGO in 2017 and previously served as Associate Communications Strategist and Social Media Manager.

Prior to joining POGO, Emma was the Research and Communications Director at the Center for Democracy in the Americas, and was previously the Research Associate for the oral history and archive project “Winning Reproductive Health and Rights: The History of an International Campaign,” on the global women’s rights movement during the lead-up to the United Nations’ 1994 International Conference on Population and Development.

Emma holds a B.A. in history with highest honors from Columbia University.
