Ryan Summers is a research fellow for POGO. He supports the organization’s work on topics including government spending and contracts and lobbying and influence, and assists POGO with FOIA requests. He also helps to maintain POGO’s Pentagon Revolving Door Database and assists with fact-checking POGO’s written products. Ryan joined POGO in the spring of 2020 as an investigative intern for the Center for Defense Information.

Prior to joining POGO, Ryan worked at the Center for International Policy as a research intern investigating how foreign governments seek to influence US policy. His work on foreign influence has been featured in TomDispatch, The Nation and Salon.

Ryan graduated from Ursinus College with a BA in political science and media and communications. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in United States Foreign Policy and National Security from American University’s School of International Service.
