PODCAST: Would-Be Whistleblowers Need to Know Their Rights

By Mandy Smithberger | Filed under analysis | April 04, 2017

Federal employees and contractors need to understand their rights and responsibilities when it comes to blowing the whistle on wrongdoing related to their work. That’s why POGO has launched a training program to educate would-be whistleblowers on tactics to safely disclose information through protected channels and to understand their protections in case of retaliation.

To talk about this initiative and all things whistleblower-related, the Women’s Foreign Policy Network hosted a podcast with POGO Executive Director Danielle Brian and Straus Military Reform Project Director Mandy Smithberger. Moderated by the group’s founder, Jenna Ben Yehuda, and including labor attorney Ari Wilkenfeld, the wide-ranging discussion delves into many of the do’s and don’ts of whistleblowing.
