GlobalFoundries is a semiconductor and chip manufacturer with twenty locations around the world. The firm partners with the aerospace and defense industry and touts being the “second largest foundry in the world.” In November 2020, the firm was awarded a $400 million contract modification from the Defense Microelectronics Activity, “[bringing] the cumulative face value of [the] previously awarded contract from $714.6M to $1.11B.”
In fiscal year 2020, GlobalFoundries received over $103 million from the Department of Defense.
