William “Bill” Marion served as deputy chief information officer of the United States Air Force until his retirement on April 30, 2020. In this role, Marion provided oversight of the Air Force’s information technology (IT) and IT strategy from cloud computing to networks and resource management with a portfolio estimated at over $17 billion. Within two months of retiring, Marion was hired by consulting firm Accenture, which has clients in the aerospace and defense sectors.
In fiscal year 2019, Accenture was one of the top 100 recipients of federal contracts from the Air Force, receiving $94.9 million.Bill Marion did not respond to a request for comment.
