Retired Major General Brian G. Neal served as the deputy director of the Air National Guard before leaving in January 2017. In that role “he [assisted] the Air National Guard Director in formulating, developing and coordinating all policies, plans, and programs affecting more than 105,700 Air National Guard members and civilians in more than 1,800 units.” Neal also led the “development and integration of the Air National Guard’s long range plans,” overseeing roughly $70 billion of the Future Years Defense Program “to ensure the [Air National Guard’s] ability to maintain both combat and homeland defense capabilities.”

In August 2017, Neal joined The Roosevelt Group as a senior advisor. The Roosevelt Group is a lobbying firm “offering its skills and expertise in advocacy, consulting, business development, and strategic communications to clients in the defense, security and intelligence sectors.”

Neal also led the “development and integration of the Air National Guard’s long range plans,” overseeing roughly $70 billion of the Future Years Defense Program “to ensure the [Air National Guard’s] ability to maintain both combat and homeland defense capabilities.”
