Retired Major General Christopher P. Hughes worked as the commanding general of Fort Knox and the U.S. Army Cadet Command (USACC) until his retirement in July 2018. Hughes also worked as a chief of staff for the United States Army Pacific Command.
In an exit interview with the U.S. Army, Hughes confirmed that he would seek a job in consulting. Three months later, Hughes joined The Roosevelt Group as a Senior Advisor. The Roosevelt Group is a lobbying and consulting firm “offering its skills and expertise in advocacy, consulting, business development, and strategic communications to clients in the defense, security, and intelligence sectors.” According to the Center for Responsive Politics, the firm lobbied the Defense Department, the Army, the Navy, and the Air Force in 2020.
