As deputy director of the Joint Electronic Warfare Center, Ronald Hahn advised senior Department of Defense officials on the particulars of electronic warfare. According to his Linkedin profile in this position, Hahn led the department’s electromagnetic spectrum vulnerabilities assessment team and lent his expertise in new technology implementation, threat mitigation actions, and policy development. He left the Department of Defense in October 2010 and became the vice president of electromagnetic spectrum strategies at URS Corporation that same month, according to his LinkedIn profile. URS, which has since been acquired by AECOM, provided planning and design services for a range of clients, including the federal government. In fiscal year 2010, URS received $1.4 billion in contracts from the Department of Defense. While in his position at URS, Hahn participated in a Defense Science Board study that ultimately recommended a $2.3 billion annual increase in spending on electronic warfare capabilities.
