On August 17, 2020, defense contracting giant Jacobs Engineering Group announced that Brooks was appointed to serve on the company’s board of directors. Jacobs is a top 100 recipient of Department of Defense contracts, receiving over $1.3 billion in fiscal year 2019 alone.
In March 2020, the firm was selected by the Army Corps. of Engineers to design the new Korea Air Operations and Intelligence Center, a deal worth over $605 million. According to Jacobs, “the [center] will oversee air operations and distributed common ground station weapon systems supporting the U.S. Forces Korea and the U.S. and Korea Combined Forces Command.”
Brooks, a four-star general in the Army, retired on January 1, 2019. Less than 2 years later, he joined the board of Jacobs Engineering Group, a company that did over $80M of business with the US Army in fiscal years 2018 and 2019.
