Emails from an Amazon employee to Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations Team, obtained by the Project On Government Oversight via a Freedom of Information Act request, show meeting and interest in the tech giant’s real-time face-scalling product Rekognition.

The timing of the emails show Amazon continued a dialogue about the technology with ICE even after anonymous employees at the tech giant protested its promotion of Rekognition to law enforcement customers.
