Benchmarking Dissent Processes and Best Practices

By Daniel Van Schooten | Filed under document | July 31, 2020

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission contracted with LinkVisum consulting group to produce this 2013 study benchmarking four different dissent processes and identifying best practices.

They examined processes from NASA, the Federal Aviation Administration, the FDA’s Center for Drug Evaluation and Research, and the pharmaceutical company Pfizer. The best practices they identified include: leadership commitment; clear policies and procedures; open, honest, and clear communication; training for employees; and a set process for assessing and improving the process’s effectiveness.
