EVENT: Cocktails with the Constitution, September 17th, 2019
On September 17th, The Constitution Project at POGO will host a pre-show reception at The Kennedy Center to celebrate Constitution Day, in advance of an 8pm curtain call for “What the Constitution Means to Me,” a Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-nominated play with a limited engagement here in Washington. The Kennedy Center performances will be the final time that the Tony-nominated playwright, Heidi Schreck, will appear in the leading role. Our reception will be an opportunity to share our successes and plans to meet the challenges ahead with colleagues, friends, and supporters.
Over the last year, we have worked hard to help preserve the rule of law and protect against government overreach. The Constitution Project at POGO has fought the president’s illegal declaration of a national emergency on our southern border, led the charge against unlawful and intrusive forms of government surveillance, and spearheaded advocacy for more accountability in the federal judiciary.
There is so much more to be done, but our work is not possible without your support. We hope that you can join us!
