Tell Congress: Protect Liberty and End Warrantless Surveillance

Call your members of Congress now and tell them to close the data broker loophole.

The Fourth Amendment was written to protect us from “unreasonable searches and seizures.” It’s the reason law enforcement must obtain a warrant to search you or your property. But today, law enforcement and intelligence agencies routinely exploit legal loopholes to conduct warrantless surveillance of Americans.

Congress is gearing up to reauthorize Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, an authority the FBI has abused to conduct warrantless searches of Americans’ communications at least 270,000 times.

Big privacy reforms are on the table, including a proposal to prohibit law enforcement from purchasing someone’s personal data, such as cell phone locations or browser history, in order to sidestep warrant requirements. Time is running out and we need your help pressuring Congress to protect our civil liberties and curb warrantless surveillance.
