Kristen Brengel Joins POGO as Senior Vice President of Policy, Advocacy, and Capacity Building
At a time of mounting threats to our democracy, POGO is accelerating its work to tackle corruption and advocate for stronger government oversight.
Washington, D.C. — To continue driving its work strengthening democratic values and building a more accountable government, the Project On Government Oversight (POGO) is bringing on Kristen Brengel, a long-time national advocacy leader with more than 25 years of experience working to ensure national park and public lands laws and policies are upheld and implemented, to lead its policy and government affairs work.
Prior to joining POGO, Kristen served for 10 years as the senior vice president of government affairs at the National Parks Conservation Association. There, she worked with lawmakers to ensure Congress acted in the best interests of the American people and adequately funded the National Park Service. In her new role at POGO, Kristen will help lead the organization’s work to tackle abuses of power in the federal government, developing and advocating for stronger policies to prevent the backsliding of democracy and misuse of taxpayer funds.
