From 2015-2023, Nick Pacifico was Associate General Counsel at POGO and focused on nonprofit compliance, copyright, contract, and employment law in addition to helping run POGO’s human resources department (including benefits, hiring, retention, conflict resolution, and trainings) and assisting with legal reviews, fact checking, and editing of POGO’s outgoing content.
Nick also assisted with POGO’s work on improper payments and the federal Inspector General (IG) system. He has contributed to POGO’s reports, testimony, letters, public comments, and analysis pieces on issues such as IG independence, federal improper payments, Customs and Border Patrol fiscal oversight, and offshore drilling rights, royalties, revenue, and competition.
Prior to his work at POGO, Nick worked at the Boston University Medical Campus, with Milligan Coughlin LLC, and as an extern legal clerk for Judge Margot Botsford, Associate Justice of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court. He earned his J.D. from Northeastern University and his B.S. in Business Administration from Boston University.
