Bio

Amaya Phillips joined POGO as a fact checker in 2021. She works with authors and editors to make sure products are written in a clear and accurate manner.

Prior to joining POGO, Amaya spent nearly four years working in the news industry for both CNN and Fox News. In her time at CNN, Amaya spent two years working for CNN's Spanish platform, CNN en Español, where she focused on major news stories occurring in Latin America and the Spanish-speaking world.

Amaya graduated from Emory University in 2017 with a bachelor's degree in international relations and Spanish and concentrations in Latin America and conflict resolution. While attending Emory, she spent time studying abroad at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile in Santiago, Chile.
