POGO's second reply to letter from Dr. Schatzberg and Dr. Nemeroff

Dear Mr. Clark and Mr. Myers:

In response to your letters dated December 9, 2010, POGO has consistently applied the earlier modification to the NIH letter and the December 01, 2010, Ghostbusters at POGO blog posted on POGO’s website.

Based on records in POGO’s possession, the modifications made to POGO’s letter to NIH and blog, and the public posting of your letters and POGO’s response, POGO will not be issuing an apology. POGO feels strongly that STI’s involvement in authoring specific portions of the handbook while only receiving a credit for “editorial assistance” was misleading and constitutes a potential conflict of interest that NIH should investigate and prohibit.

Sincerely,

Scott H. Amey

General Counsel
